TGbaixopH: development of a more sustainable and highly biodegradable degreaser for the elimination of carbonized fats.
Mistolin’s degreaser is the market leader nationwide in grease removal. However, due to its composition, it has a very high basicity (with a pH of approximately 14). Replacing it with a gentler product, free of phosphates and with a more moderate pH (up to 11.5), would avoid the “corrosive” label, reduce risks for users, and be less aggressive on the surfaces where it is applied. There are already some similar products on the market, but their efficiency is far inferior to Mistolin’s degreaser.
To address this issue, Mistolin aims, through the TGbaixopH project, to improve its product without compromising its effectiveness. Thus, the final formulation will not only be more environmentally friendly and highly effective in grease removal but will also need to remain stable at different temperatures for 3 years.
