Ultra-concentrated bases for the production of cleaning products: control over concentrated phases of polymers and surfactants.
The aim of this project is to build highly concentrated bases of different detergents that are easy to handle and use at their final destination, that are thermodynamically stable for long periods of time and that allow users in the target markets to prepare products at competitive prices and with an easy production process.
This will require an in-depth study of the compatibility between the different components of the various detergents to be developed, production methods and stability, as well as the effectiveness of the products after dilution by the user at the destination. By studying in depth the phase diagrams of highly concentrated systems, dissolution limits, surfactant geometries, the addition of co-solutes, the effect of temperature, etc., it will be possible to build highly concentrated bases – with a water content of less than 20% – making transportation to the destination countries a very low cost per unit of final product.

Project Summary: Project No. 33368 BasUC aims to develop highly concentrated bases for various detergents that are easy to handle and use at the final destination, thermodynamically stable over long periods, and enable users in target markets to prepare products at competitive prices with an efficient production process. This requires an in-depth study of the compatibility between different detergent components, production methods, stability, and product efficacy after dilution by the end-user. Through extensive research on phase diagrams of highly concentrated systems, solubility limits, surfactant geometries, co-solute additions, temperature effects, and more, it will be possible to develop high-concentration bases – with water content below 20% – significantly reducing transport costs per unit of final product to destination countries.
